ACE 2010 Level 1 Course
There will be 2 Program options:
Program 1: Wednesday 17 – Friday 19 February 2010 (3 day block)
Program 2:
4, 18, & 25 June 2010 (3 Fridays)
Participants will choose one of the 2
Program options.
Each day will be scheduled from 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Day 1: Preparation and beginning
The supervision experience - learning theory
Making clinical reasoning explicit
How context and culture shape learning
Student characteristics
Planning and orientation
Supervisory styles
Day 2: Practice in action
Elements of effective supervision
Culturally sensitive supervision
Identifying and managing challenging attitudes and behaviors
Day 3: Assessment and evaluation
The process of student assessment
Challenges associated with assessment of students
The why and how of evaluating the clinical experience
Reflective practice for the clinician and student
Assessment
In order to be eligible for the Certificate of Advancing Clinical
Education, participants must complete the three day program and a
self-directed learning contract. Participants use the learning contract to
develop their knowledge or skills in an area of clinical education of
personal interest.

Program 1: Friday 25 June 2010
Program 2: Friday 29 October 2010
This multidisciplinary course is appropriate for all allied health and
health professionals. |
